1:1 Autism & ADHD Teaching Assistant

Good 1:1 support is not about doing everything for a pupil.
It is about knowing when to step in, when to prompt and when to give them the space to succeed independently.
Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting a 1:1 Autism and ADHD Teaching Assistant for an inclusive school in Camden.
You will support a pupil who benefits from additional guidance around focus, organisation, emotional regulation and accessing classroom learning, while continuing to encourage independence.
Your role
You will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide consistent support throughout the school day.
Responsibilities may include:

Supporting the pupil during classroom learning

Breaking down instructions where required

Helping with focus and attention

Supporting transitions and changes in routine

Encouraging independent problem-solving
-
Providing reassurance without creating dependence

Supporting emotional regulation
-
Reinforcing strategies agreed by the wider SEND team

Helping the pupil build confidence within the classroom
