We are working in partnership with a supportive and nurturing primary SEND provision in Harlow, who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Mentor to support a primary-aged pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a full-time, term-time only role, focused on providing consistent, tailored 1:1 behavioural and emotional support to help the pupil engage positively with learning and school life. You will play a key role in helping the child regulate emotions, develop coping strategies and build confidence within a structured and caring environment.

About the Role

  • Providing 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with SEMH
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour throughout the school day
  • Implementing individual behaviour support plans and agreed strategies
  • Helping the pupil access learning in and out of the classroom
  • Using a calm, consistent and trauma-informed approach
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
  • Supporting transitions, routines and unstructured times

About You

  • Experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs is desirable
  • Calm, patient and resilient, with a nurturing approach
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour in a positive way
  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Reliable, consistent and committed to making a difference
  • Passionate about supporting children’s emotional wellbeing

What the School Offers

  • Full-time, term-time only position (Monday to Friday)
  • Working hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
