Role Details

  • Pay: £90–£100 per day (PAYE)
  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Contract: Temp-to-perm
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Term time only

Parker Smith Inclusion is working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Inclusion Support Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is a full-time role, despite the pupil currently accessing education on a part-time timetable.

About the Role

You will be working closely with a young pupil on a one-to-one basis, supporting both their academic engagement and emotional regulation within a mainstream school setting.

The role offers a varied working week. On some days, you will accompany the pupil to an outdoor learning provision, providing consistency and support throughout the day. Staff at the provision will lead and take part in activities, meaning you will not always be required to participate and can use this time to complete administrative tasks, planning, or alternative duties as required by the school.

There is no requirement to drive, as transport to and from the outdoor provision is provided via taxi.

Your role will focus on helping the pupil re-engage with education, build confidence in learning, and work towards a more consistent school routine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil
  • Support engagement in classroom-based learning
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
  • Accompany the pupil to an outdoor learning provision when required
  • Complete basic admin, observations, and record-keeping

The Ideal Candidate

  • Outdoorsy, sporty, or comfortable working outside
  • Patient, calm, and resilient
  • Able to build strong, positive relationships with children
  • Confident supporting learning and engagement
  • Experience in SEN, behaviour support, or primary education is desirable but not essential

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a rewarding, long-term role supporting a child within a mainstream primary school, with the added benefit of outdoor learning experience.
