We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 6 student with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD. This is a highly rewarding role where you will help the student access the curriculum, develop social skills, and thrive within a structured and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a Year 6 student with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD.
- Assist the student in engaging with classroom activities, learning tasks, and group work.
- Support the development of structure, routine, and consistency throughout the school day.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and resilience through empathy and encouragement.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement strategies tailored to the student’s individual needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social development, helping the student transition smoothly through lessons and activities.
- Observe and report on progress, challenges, and achievements to inform ongoing support plans.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs (highly desirable).
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to provide structure and consistency while adapting flexibly to the child’s unique needs.
- Collaborative team player who works closely with teachers and support staff.
- Passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.
