1:1 Learning Support Assistant (SEND) – Camden
We are currently recruiting a resilient and committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with significant SEND needs in a mainstream primary school in Camden
This is a full-time, long-term role supporting a year 1 child who presents with challenging behaviour, including physical behaviour. The successful candidate must be confident, calm under pressure, and experienced in managing behaviour safely and professionally.
The Role:

Providing 1:1 support throughout the school day

Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management
-
Implementing strategies advised by SEN professionals
-
Ensuring the safety of the pupil and others at all times

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external agencies
Essential Requirements:
-
Previous experience supporting children with SEND and challenging behaviour
-
Confidence managing physical behaviour (de-escalation, positive handling strategies)
-
A calm, patient, and consistent approach
-
Ability to build strong, professional boundaries
-
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
Desirable:
-
Team Teach or similar behaviour training
-
Experience in primary school settings
-
Background in SEMH, ASD, or complex needs
