Are you a resilient, compassionate, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in a child's life?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Enfield is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Pupil Support to join their team as soon as possible. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing environment where every child is supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
This rewarding role will involve providing 1:1 support for a child with an EHCP for SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) and SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs). The child can become dysregulated at times and requires a calm, consistent adult who can build positive relationships, recognise triggers, and implement preventative strategies to support successful outcomes.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Resilient and able to remain calm under pressure
- Proactive, with the initiative to think on their feet and adapt strategies when needed
- Skilled at distraction and redirection techniques to prevent escalation
- Understanding of SEMH needs and the impact they can have on learning and behaviour
- Passionate about helping children develop socially, emotionally, and academically
- Confident working collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENDCO, and external professionals
Experience supporting children with SEMH, behavioural needs, Autism, ADHD, or Speech and Language difficulties would be highly beneficial.
PRICE, Team Teach, or Hold training is desirable but not essential, as the school is committed to investing in the right candidate and can provide training and ongoing professional development.
