About the Role
Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting children with autism? A welcoming primary school in Brent is seeking a dedicated 1:1 LSA to support a Year 1 pupil with autism on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding role that offers scope for career development. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with the child on a personalised timetable.
Key Responsibilities

Provide consistent 1:1 support for a student with autism in a mainstream primary school setting

Implement personalised learning activities designed to develop communication, independence, and social skills

Encourage engagement in curriculum-based and structured play activities such as mark making and story time

Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals including speech and language therapists

Support the child in developing confidence, routine, and positive interaction with peers

Promote an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive learning environment
About the Student

Year 1 pupil with a diagnosis of Autism (ASC)
-
Limited verbal communication and currently receives half-termly speech and language support
-
Follows a personalised timetable focused on early learning and gross motor development

Independent with toileting and no personal care needs at present
The Ideal Candidate

Prior experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or SEN support worker

Experience working with children with autism and/or speech, language, and communication needs

Ability to follow personalised learning plans and adapt activities to the child’s needs

Patient, proactive, and committed to helping children develop essential life and learning skills

Enthusiastic about long-term progression in SEN and supporting inclusive education
