Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant? Can you handle dysregulated behaviours? Do you have a positive and energetic personality?
We are looking for a passionate, energetic, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Reception-aged child with Autism (ASC).
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to making a positive difference in a child's educational journey. The successful candidate will support the child to access learning, develop communication and social skills, and manage periods of dysregulation using positive, nurturing strategies.
The Role

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception child with Autism.

Build a trusting and positive relationship with the child.

Support learning through play and structured activities.

Use proactive strategies to support emotional regulation and respond calmly to dysregulated behaviours.

Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider school staff to implement support plans.

Encourage independence, communication, and social interaction throughout the school day.

Maintain accurate observations and contribute to reviews of the child's progress.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
-
Has previous experience working within a primary school environment (essential).

Has experience supporting children with Autism and additional SEND needs.

Is confident supporting children who may display dysregulated or challenging behaviours in a calm, consistent, and positive manner.

Has a nurturing, patient, and resilient approach.

Is enthusiastic, energetic, and able to engage young children through play and creative activities.

Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

Works well as part of a team while also using their own initiative.
Desirable Experience
-
Experience working in a nursery, preschool, or Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting.

Knowledge of sensory regulation strategies, visual supports, and communication approaches such as PECS or Makaton.

Relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable but not essential).
