1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant – Year 8
Nurture potential where it matters most.

Some students don’t need strict behaviour management… they need patience, understanding, and someone who truly sees them.

We are working with a specialist SEND school in Croydon supporting academically able students whose needs often present through anxiety and avoidance rather than oppositional behaviour.

This role is to support a high-achieving Year 8 student on a 1:1 basis. She is bright, capable, and full of potential, but currently navigating EBSA, anxiety, and an eating disorder, which can make accessing education challenging at times. Your role will be to gently rebuild that confidence.

You will support her both in school and, where needed, through home-based learning, working closely with her family and the wider team to create a consistent, supportive approach. This is a role that requires emotional intelligence, sensitivity, and the ability to build trust at the student’s pace.

The school is relatively new and offers a calm, purposeful environment for students who are academically able but need a different approach to thrive. There is a real focus on high-quality teaching, strong relationships, and long-term outcomes.
