1:1 Severe Learning Difficulties Teaching Assistant

£92.59 – £110 per day PAYE
Full-time | Long-term | September start
We are looking for a caring, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant to support a secondary-aged student with severe learning difficulties on a 1:1 basis within a specialist SEND setting in Barnet.
This role would suit someone who is confident supporting young people with complex learning needs and is passionate about helping students build independence, communication skills and confidence throughout the school day.
The Role:
Supporting a secondary student with severe learning difficulties on a 1:1 basis
Helping the student access learning, routines and wider school life
Supporting communication, emotional regulation and personal development
Working closely with the class teacher, therapists and wider support team
Providing a consistent, calm and encouraging approach
Supporting with personal care where required
What We’re Looking For:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ideally SLD, PMLD, autism or complex needs
A patient, nurturing and reliable approach
Someone who can build strong relationships and provide consistent support
Confidence working as part of a wider school team
A genuine interest in SEND education and making a difference
