We're working with a fantastic specialist SEND school in Barnet looking for a 1:1 Severe Learning Difficulties Teaching Assistant to support a secondary-aged student with complex learning needs.
The school provides a nurturing, highly personalised environment where every pupil is supported to develop communication, independence and confidence. You'll join a dedicated multidisciplinary team that works closely together to ensure every young person receives the care and encouragement they need to thrive.
Your role:
✅ Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a secondary-aged student with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
✅ Support communication, emotional regulation and personal development
✅ Help the student access learning, routines and wider school life
✅ Work alongside teachers, therapists and the wider SEND team
✅ Provide a calm, consistent and encouraging approach
✅ Support with personal care where required
We're looking for someone who:
✔ Has experience supporting children or young people with SLD, PMLD, Autism or complex needs
✔ Is patient, nurturing and resilient
✔ Can build positive, trusting relationships
✔ Enjoys working as part of a supportive team
✔ Has a genuine passion for SEND education
