Job Title: Support Worker
Location: Secondary PRU, London Borough of Newham
Salary: £100 - £120 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time
Are you passionate about supporting young people facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges? I am seeking a dedicated and proactive Support Worker to join our team for an immediate start! Please be aware this role requires you to be flexible to travel, working across both sites and within the community.
The School
An PRU based in Newham with sites in Plaistow and North Woolwich supporting secondary aged students that have been excluded from MS school either temporarily or permanently, they support with interventions, key skills and lessons to support GCSEs and/or BTECs.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering 1:1 sessions to students who require additional support due to significant social, emotional, and mental health barriers to learning. You will work closely with each student to develop and implement bespoke timetables, ensuring that their learning needs are met in both onsite and offsite settings. You will create your own bespoke timetable to work around the students needs.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver structured 1:1 sessions tailored to individual student needs.

Develop and implement personalised timetables in collaboration with the wider team.

Support students both onsite and offsite, ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment.

Foster a supportive and understanding relationship with students to encourage confidence and progression.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and engagement.
Requirements

Experience working with young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to plan and adapt sessions based on individual student needs.

A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach.

Full UK driving license (preferred) as some sessions will be delivered offsite.
