Job Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Salary: up to £100 per day PAYE
The Role:
I am looking for a Teaching Assistant that has minimum of 1 year experience of working in an SEMH setting or with vulnerable children. You will be supporting a child that has signification social, emotional, mental health needs, anxiety, trauma and complex needs which prevents him from attending school. Majority of the learning will be done within the community, such as a library, you will need to be comfortable with lone working.
The School:
The school supports children from primary all the way to post-16 whom cannot access mainstream school due to, mental health, SEN, SEMH, trauma, anxiety, depression, behaviour and other needs and it creates bespoke lesson plans to meet the needs of the children. Their wellbeing and attendance comes first, meaning that they have never permanently excluded and they never give up on any child. As a therapeutic school they have SALTs, OTs and EPs on site that all students have access to. You will be part of an ever developing organisation which is helping young children within the London Borough of Newham.
Desired Experience & Requirements:
- You must have minimum 1 year experience working with children and/or young people with SEMH needs.
- Youth work experience
- Community work experience
- Comfortable working alone
- Secondary experience
- Experience with level 1 & 2 key skills
- Experience with interventions such as; behaviour and anger management, self confidence etc
You will be requested to complete a Parker Smith Inclusion DBS if you do not already hold one on the Update Service.
