1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant – Long Term Role

PS Inclusion are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a little girl with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a mainstream primary school. This is a full-time, long-term role for the right candidate, starting as soon as possible.
About the Role:
You will be providing individualised support to a young pupil who is pre-verbal and communicates using a core board and visual aids. She requires a high level of support and understanding, with frequent dysregulation and a tendency to leave the classroom when overwhelmed.
Your role will involve:

Supporting her learning and emotional regulation both inside and outside of the classroom.

Using visual communication systems to facilitate interaction and engagement.

Providing consistent encouragement, reassurance, and boundaries to help her feel safe.

Adapting activities to suit her individual needs and learning style.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience supporting children with Autism and complex needs.
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
Confidence in supporting children outside the classroom environment when needed.
A strong understanding of sensory regulation and behaviour linked to communication.
The ability to work collaboratively with staff and build positive relationships with parents.
