I am seeking an experienced 121 SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a Year 9 student that has high functioning autism and social emotinal mental health needs, he is quite shy and school avoidant therefore you will be supporting him in the community with enrichment based learning as well as functional skills learning.
Due to the young boys needs he is very particular with order, timings and structure of his day meaning the TA that works 121 with him needs to be patient, understanding but also confident enough to push the boundaries to try and get him out of his comfort zone and eventually be able to attend school on a full time basis.
You will be working full time Monday - Friday 8:30 - 4:30 and the learner lives in East London so when he is not in the school building in stratford you will be around this area, ideally it will be good to have a TA that is familiar with this area to be able to suggest activites to do.
Please note the requirments to be conisdered for this role;
- Minimum 1 Year experience within a school supporting SEMH/ASC pupils and/or a PRU or SEMH Setting
- Child & Adult DBS check - with no convictions
- Able to provide 2 years worth of references
