Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a specialist SEMH school in Harrow seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide individual support to a young person with ADHD.
The school works with young people who may have struggled within mainstream education and can present with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and additional learning difficulties.
About the Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide consistent, individualised support throughout the school day.
You’ll build a trusting relationship with the student, encourage engagement with learning and help them develop positive behaviours, confidence and independence.
You’ll also play an important role in maintaining clear boundaries and creating a calm, supportive environment where the student can succeed.
This is a role where patience, consistency and strong relationship-building skills are just as important as classroom experience.
Who We’re Looking For

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, ADHD or Autism

Background in education, youth work, mentoring, care or a similar setting

Someone who can build positive and meaningful relationships

A calm, patient and consistent approach

Confidence managing challenging behaviour and maintaining boundaries

A genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential
Formal school-based experience is beneficial, but candidates with strong voluntary, personal or transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
