Contract: Full time, long term
Start Date: Immediate

Do you have a passion for supporting young people with additional needs and SEMH challenges? Are you looking to build valuable experience in SEND while making a genuine difference?

I’m currently working with a specialist SEMH school in Barnet seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a young person with ADHD.

The school supports young people who may have experienced exclusion from mainstream education and can present with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs and additional learning difficulties.

About the Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll build a positive relationship with the student, provide consistent support and act as a strong role model.

You’ll help them engage with learning, manage behaviour and develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed in education.

No two days will be the same, so you’ll need to be calm, resilient and confident setting clear boundaries.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, ADHD or Autism
  • Experience in education, youth work, mentoring, care or a similar setting
  • Someone who can build strong and meaningful relationships
  • A calm, patient and consistent approach
  • Someone who is passionate about helping young people reach their potential

Formal experience is valuable, but we’re also interested in candidates with strong voluntary or transferable experience.

Why Consider This Role?

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to develop a career in SEND, education, psychology, social care or therapy.

You’ll gain hands-on experience within a specialist setting, with opportunities for professional development and training.
