121 Teaching Assistant - Lambeth | Immediate Start

Salary:£100 to £120 per day, PAYE

Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people with additional learning needs and mental health challenges? Are you eager to make a difference in their lives while gaining valuable experience and advancing your career in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)?

I am currently working with a South East London Alternative Provision (AP) that needs an engaging and dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Mentor for a Year 9 student with ADHD. The children in this school have either been temporarily or permanently excluded due to challenging and disruptive behaviours. They may or may not have a special educational needs diagnosis or an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). I would like to speak with professional and committed Behaviour Mentors, whether your experience is formal or voluntary—your passion is what matters!

TA Requirements:

A passion for working with young people who require additional support to access education and develop socially.

Experience working with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, or learning difficulties, as well as experience in SEMH, trauma, or social communication.

Previous experience as a Youth Mentor or Worker.

Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships.

What to Expect as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant

You will naturally build rapport with young people and serve as a positive role model. You will work one-on-one with a Year 9 student with ADHD, who is often disruptive in class. Your role will involve setting clear boundaries and acting as a strong mentor. Daily responsibilities may vary, so you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations.

This position is ideal for aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs), Counsellors, and Social Workers, as it provides valuable, relevant experience for your chosen career path.

Continued Professional Development:

SEND schools and APs are committed to training their staff to support children's needs, allowing you to become an expert in your field. As a TA, you will have the opportunity to make a significant social impact and potentially change a young person's life!

Pay Information:

We understand that pay is important, and we aim to keep it clear and straightforward. For this reason, we only pay our staff via PAYE. The quoted rates are gross pay, and your earnings will not include the employer's National Insurance deductions or administrative fees. Pay rates will vary depending on role requirements and your experience, typically ranging from £100 to £120 per day.
