Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a specialist SEMH setting in Cricklewood that is looking for a dedicated 121 Teaching Assistant to support a young person with ADHD.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to build valuable experience within a specialist SEND environment.
The setting supports young people who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education and can present with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, ADHD and additional learning difficulties.
About the Role
As a 121 Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide individualised support throughout the school day, helping a young person engage with their learning, manage challenges and develop greater confidence and independence.
You’ll work closely with the student and wider staff team to create a consistent and supportive environment.
Building trust will be a key part of the role. You’ll need to be patient, approachable and able to provide clear boundaries while remaining calm when situations become challenging.
What You’ll Be Doing

Providing dedicated 121 support throughout the school day

Helping the student engage with lessons and activities

Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour

Encouraging independence and confidence

Building a strong and trusting relationship with the student

Helping the student manage challenges and transitions

Reinforcing positive behaviour and appropriate boundaries

Working closely with teachers and the wider support team

Supporting the student to make progress towards individual targets

You don’t necessarily need extensive SEND experience.
