Help Young People Thrive at School

Some pupils find school confusing, overwhelming, or challenging. They may struggle to communicate, engage, or feel safe. With the right support, every young person can feel understood, confident, and able to reach their potential. This role puts you at the heart of that support.

About the School

This secondary school in Barking and Dagenham specialises in supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition. Learning is personalised, structured, and focused on strengths. Small class sizes mean you can make a real difference, helping pupils build confidence, independence, and reconnect with learning.

You will work alongside teachers, therapists, and SENCOs to provide consistent guidance and care, contributing to a positive and inclusive environment.

What You Will Do

  • Support pupils in a calm and structured environment designed for success

  • Work closely with therapists, SENCOs, and the leadership team

  • Help pupils make meaningful progress day to day, from engaging in lessons to developing life skills

  • Collaborate with a supportive team who value your contribution

Who You Are

  • Experienced supporting pupils with ASC or other SEND, or from care, pastoral, or youth work backgrounds

  • Patient, resilient, compassionate, and committed to helping every pupil feel safe and valued

  • Curious, enthusiastic, and ready to learn; training and mentoring will be provided to help you make an immediate impact

Why This Role Matters

This is more than a job. It is an opportunity to change lives. From supporting a pupil to communicate their first words to helping them manage their emotions, your impact will be meaningful every day.
