SEND Learning Support Assistant – ASC Resource Provision (ARP)

Location: Havering
Pay: £90–£100 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full Time | Long-Term | Temp to Perm
Start: Easter 2026

Are you confident, resilient, and ready to make a real difference in a child’s life? This role is for someone who thrives in a structured environment, can adapt to complex needs, and isn’t afraid to get hands-on when supporting pupils with Autism in a mainstream school setting.

This is a long-term, stable placement in a school ARP, offering the chance to work consistently with the same pupils and staff. For the right person, there’s potential for the role to become permanent.

About the Role

You will be supporting pupils in an Autism Resource Provision (ARP) within a mainstream school. Pupils may have complex social, emotional, and learning needs, requiring 1:1 or small group support.

This role goes beyond classroom support — you will help pupils access learning, regulate their emotions, develop independence, and provide personal care when needed. You will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with Autism
  • Support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation throughout the school day
  • Implement individualised strategies to meet pupils’ sensory, communication, and behavioural needs
  • Assist with personal care, hygiene, and daily routines as required
  • Use positive behaviour strategies and clear, consistent boundaries
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
  • Support pupils during transitions, break times, and structured activities

Who We’re Looking For

  • A strong, confident, and resilient personality
  • Experience supporting children with Autism (ASC) or SEND in schools, social care, or personal settings
  • Comfortable and competent with personal care tasks
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally aware, able to manage complex needs
  • Professional or personal/lived experience welcomed
  • Able to build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Committed to consistency, long-term placement, and making a meaningful impact

Why Apply?

  • Work in a stable, long-term school placement with the same pupils and staff
  • Competitive daily pay
  • Temp to perm opportunity for the right person
  • Join a supportive team within an inclusive ARP environment
  • Make a tangible difference in children’s lives every day
