ASC Learning Support Assistant - Havering

Parker Smith Inclusion are working with a creative and welcoming mainstream primary school in Havering looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support children with Autism, ADHD and complex needs.

About the Role

This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit quietly at the back of the classroom.

You'll be getting involved, building relationships and finding ways to make learning engaging and accessible.

You could be:

• Supporting children with ASC, ADHD and complex SEND needs

• Providing 1:1 and small group support

• Helping children manage emotions, behaviour and transitions

• Making learning fun and accessible

• Building confidence, communication and independence

• Working closely with teachers and the wider school team

• Becoming a positive and consistent person in a child's day

Who We're Looking For

You don't necessarily need previous school experience.

You might already work in SEND, or come from a background such as:

• Nursery or Early Years

• Sports coaching

• Youth work

• Care or support work

• Childcare

• A personal background supporting someone with additional needs

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is energetic, patient, confident and able to build genuine relationships with children.

If you're the sort of person children naturally gravitate towards, can think on your feet and don't mind being a little bit silly when the moment calls for it, this could be a great fit.
