Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants – Havering
Start: September 2025 and ongoing
Pay: £90 per day PAYE only
Contract: Full-time long-term and permanent roles available
We’re looking for experienced Teaching Assistants who are confident working with children and young people with Autism (ASC).
This mainstream primary has a well-established Additional Resource Provision (ARP) supporting children with Autism and complex needs. The ARP functions as a small, structured unit within the wider school, offering tailored interventions and support. The school is known for its positive behaviour approach, strong leadership, and excellent relationships with families. A great opportunity to work in a hybrid setting combining mainstream and specialist approaches.
What you'll be doing:
-
Supporting learners with ASC in the classroom and during unstructured times
-
Helping students manage transitions, routines and communication
-
Working with clear behaviour plans and communication systems (e.g. PECS, visual timetables)
-
Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs
-
Contributing to a calm, consistent and safe learning environment
What we’re looking for:
-
You’ve worked with autistic learners before – in schools, PRUs, or other settings
-
You understand what a structured day looks like for a child with ASC
-
You can stay calm and consistent when things get loud, fast, or unpredictable
-
You’re reliable – because the students and teams depend on it
-
You’re willing to learn from others and take feedback on board
Why work with Parker Smith Inclusion?
We’re not here to push people into the wrong roles. We are specialist that work exclusively in SEN and we know how important it is to match the right person to the right setting. We’ll be upfront with you about the schools, the students, and the expectations.
You’ll be paid weekly via PAYE, with no hidden deductions or umbrella company nonsense.
If you're an experienced TA and you're open to hearing about real opportunities in East London schools, get in touch.
