ASC SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Specialist School

Enfield

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition in a specialist SEN setting?

We are working with a specialist SEN school in North London that provides a nurturing, trauma-informed environment for students who have faced barriers in mainstream education. The school is looking for a dedicated ASC SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team this September. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role where you can make a real difference.

The Role

  • Support students with ASC and other SEMH needs in class and during structured activities.
  • Build trusting relationships that help students feel safe, understood, and motivated.
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning and behavioural support according to individual needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, families, and external professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Be an empathetic role model who encourages independence, confidence, and personal growth.

About You

  • Experienced or passionate about supporting children with ASC and SEMH needs.
  • Patient, adaptable, and resilient in a challenging but rewarding environment.
  • Creative and empathetic, able to build meaningful connections with students.
  • Committed to going above and beyond to help students achieve their potential.

What the School Offers

  • Comprehensive training in trauma-informed practice, ASC strategies, and behaviour support.
  • Opportunities for career progression within the SEMH setting.
  • Flexibility to accommodate personal commitments.
  • Temp-to-perm opportunities for the right candidate.
  • Access to wellbeing initiatives, including therapy dogs and onsite gym facilities.

If you are ready for a meaningful role that allows you to make a real impact on the lives of young people with ASC, apply today or contact Katie at Parker Smith Inclusion.
