This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing special school in Cricklewood that delivers an integrated, therapeutic approach to education for children and young people with Autism (ASC) and associated social, emotional and mental health needs.
The school supports pupils aged 7–16 who have often found mainstream education challenging. There is a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, personalised learning and providing a calm, structured environment where pupils can re-engage with education and thrive.
The Role – ASC Teacher
As an ASC Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping meaningful learning experiences and supporting both academic and personal development, including:

Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs

Teaching small classes of pupils with Autism and SEMH needs across primary or secondary age ranges

Creating a safe, nurturing and structured classroom environment

Supporting pupils’ emotional regulation, communication and social development

Assessing progress and adapting teaching to ensure positive outcomes

Working closely with therapists, SEN support staff and families as part of a multidisciplinary team
The Ideal Candidate
The school welcomes applications from experienced ASC Teachers and mainstream teachers transitioning into specialist education. You will ideally have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching pupils with Autism and/or SEMH (specialist or mainstream settings)

Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, trauma-informed approach

Creativity, patience and resilience

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A commitment to inclusive, child-centred practice and continuous professional development
