ASC Teaching Assistant
North London
Looking for staff starting April 2026 and September 2026
A specialist school in Enfield is looking for an ASC Teaching Assistant to support students within their primary autism provision. The setting supports children who have autism and related needs, many of whom benefit from a structured, calm and nurturing environment that allows them to feel safe and ready to learn.
In this role, you would work closely with pupils throughout the school day, supporting them both in the classroom and during structured activities. Many of the children require consistent routines, clear communication and patient guidance to help them engage with learning and develop their social and communication skills. Support may be provided one-to-one or within small groups, allowing staff to respond to each child’s individual needs.
A key part of the role involves building trusting relationships with the pupils, helping them manage transitions, understand expectations and develop confidence within the school environment. The team works closely together to create a supportive atmosphere where students can make progress at their own pace.
The school is looking for someone who is patient, calm and genuinely interested in supporting children with autism. Previous experience working with ASC or additional needs is beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
