As an experienced Teaching Assistant, you already know the impact you have on students every day, but you’re ready for more responsibility. More ownership. More opportunity to lead. Becoming a Higher Level Teaching Assistant is that next step.
This role allows you to move beyond support and into delivery, leading lessons, running interventions, and playing a key part in shaping students’ learning experiences.
As a HLTA, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to support and lead learning across the classroom. This may include delivering pre-planned lessons, leading small group or 1:1 interventions, and stepping in to cover classes when needed.
You’ll adapt learning, support a wide range of needs, and help create an environment where every student can engage and succeed. Because your role isn’t just to assist, it’s to influence outcomes.

Why Consider HLTA Roles Through Parker Smith Inclusion?
Every school is different. The way support staff are valued, developed, and included can vary hugely.
We take the time to understand you, your strengths, your goals, and the kind of environment you want to work in. Then we match you with schools where you can thrive, feel valued, and continue to grow.
This isn’t just a promotion, it’s a chance to take the lead, develop your career, and make an even greater difference every day.
