Assistant Headteacher – Specialist SEMH School
Location: Bromley, South East London
Salary: Leadership Scale
Start Date: ASAP / To Be Confirmed
Are you an experienced Assistant Headteacher or an ambitious senior leader with a passion for Specialist education?
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and inspirational Assistant Headteacher to join a highly regarded specialist school in Bromley. This is an exciting opportunity for an impactful leader to play a key role in driving school improvement, supporting staff and transforming outcomes for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The school provides specialist education for pupils from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 5, supporting young people who require a nurturing, structured and therapeutic approach to learning. Many pupils have experienced significant barriers to education and benefit from personalised support, positive relationships and an environment where they feel safe, understood and empowered to succeed.
With a strong emphasis on emotional well-being, resilience and independence, the school combines a broad and ambitious academic curriculum with practical and vocational learning opportunities. Pupils benefit from engaging experiences, including construction, cookery, motorcycle mechanics, and other vocational pathways, helping them develop confidence, life skills, and aspirations for their futures.
The school has a strong reputation for its inclusive ethos, high expectations and commitment to ensuring every pupil can achieve their potential.
Rated 'Good' by Ofsted, the school received exceptionally positive feedback following its March 2024 inspection, with inspectors indicating that it could achieve an Outstanding judgement if a graded inspection were carried out.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking leadership team within a Specialist setting where relationships, safeguarding, emotional well-being, and high-quality teaching are at the heart of everything.
