Autism Behaviour Support
Primary setting - East Ham
£95 - £100 per day PAYE
Full time, immediate start
A primary school that PS Inclusion have been supporting for quite some time are seeking an experienced support assistant that specialises in autism behaviours, with a calming patient nature to have a positive effect on the students emotional regulation which in turn will support their learning.
Autism behaviours can vary from child to child however some students may become physical or avoid interaction all together, students with these needs require support from a specialist, someone who is not scared of their behaviour, has a firm but fair approach, has patience, resilience and understand that these are ways of them potentially trying to communicate or regulate themselves and can provide positive reinforcement.
If you're a support assistant with experience of the above behaviour I would like to hear from you this half term, ideally you'd need to have the following on your cv;
- School experience supporting students with autism
- Primary experience
- Experience of behaviour regulation techniques and interventions
- Proven track record of improving behaviour within the classroom
- Positive behaviour trained (PRIICE, Team Teach)
- Up to date autism awareness training
- Ability to support more than one student at a time
- Calm and fair approach
- Resilience and patience
- Positive personality
