The Ideal Autism Teaching Assistant Will Be...
- A graduate in Psychology, Health & Social Care, Sociology, Education, or a related field looking to gain valuable SEND experience.
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with autism and additional learning needs.
- Creative, patient, and adaptable in their approach to learning and behaviour support.
- Driven, proactive, and keen to progress within education or specialist SEND services.
- A strong team player who can build positive relationships with students, families, and professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students with autism in both classroom and specialist learning environments.
- Assisting with communication, emotional regulation, and social development programmes.
- Working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning plans.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating educational environment.
