Autism Support Assistant – Camden
Could you be the trusted adult a child needs to feel safe, understood and ready to learn?
We are working with a welcoming school in Camden that is looking for an Autism Support Assistant to support pupils with autism and additional learning needs. This role would suit someone who is nurturing, patient and confident supporting children who may need extra help with communication, routine and emotional regulation.
You do not need to be the finished article, but you do need to be consistent, caring and able to see the child behind the diagnosis.
The role:
- Autism Support Assistant
- Camden location
- Full-time, long-term position
- Supporting pupils with autism and communication needs
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Helping pupils access learning and feel included
- Supporting routines, transitions and emotional regulation
- Working as part of a strong SEND team
The ideal person:
- Has experience supporting children, young people or adults with SEND
- Has a calm and positive approach
- Is patient, reliable and resilient
- Can follow structure and routine
- Is interested in a career in SEND, psychology, teaching, therapy or education
