Are you passionate about supporting autistic children and young people to thrive?
We are working with a specialist SEND school in Enfield that is looking for a dedicated Autism Support Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The school provides a nurturing environment for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated learning needs.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC.
- Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Use strategies such as visual timetables, PECS, Makaton, and sensory support.
- Help students access learning and develop independence.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to support pupil progress.
- Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with Autism and/or SEND.
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
