Location: Merton
Salary: MPS/UPS - £37870 - £56154 (PAYE) and dependant on experience
Contract: Full time and Permanent (Term time only)

The Role
As an Autism Teacher, you will teach pupils with a range of needs and abilities and support students who communicate in different ways.
This role will involve you leading a small group of support staff, working across the classroom with students who may present with high and low support needs, dysregulation, sensory difficulties and challenging behaviours.
Key responsibilities include:

Delivering engaging and effective lessons adapted to support Autistic students

Creating a supportive, structured, and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional development

Building positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress

Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic support
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

A proven background in teaching students with a primary diagnosis of Autism

Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning and behavioural needs

Strong communication, resilience, and interpersonal skills
