Are you looking for a role where you can make a meaningful impact every day? Do you have a genuine interest in Autism, learning differences, and helping young people reach their full potential?

We’re working with a fantastic ‘Outstanding’ specialist SEN school in Kingston upon Thames, supporting children and young people aged 3–19 years with Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school offers an exceptionally nurturing, creative, and well-resourced environment.

Why join this school?

  • Small class sizes, typically 6–8 pupils, supported by 3–5 adults
  • A therapeutic and inclusive approach, designed around each child’s individual needs
  • Fantastic leadership and training, ideal for aspiring teachers, therapists, or educational psychologists
  • The chance to bring your own interests, art, cooking, sport, music, or gardening, into the classroom
  • Easily accessible by public transport with free on-site parking
  • Supportive, collaborative staff who genuinely love what they do

What you will be doing

As an Autism Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping students learn, communicate, and develop essential life skills. Every day will be different. One moment you’ll be supporting sensory play or communication work, the next you’ll be helping with independence and hydrotherapy activities.

This is a long-term to permanent role, offering absolute stability and the chance to grow within a highly respected SEN setting.

About you

  • Experience or a real passion for working with young people with Autism (ASC), SLD or complex needs
  • Patient, empathetic and proactive, and able to build strong, trusting relationships
  • Open to learning and professional development
  • Personal or voluntary experience with SEND is highly valued

If you’re the kind of person who celebrates small wins and believes every child deserves the chance to shine, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
