Autism Teaching Assistant – Merton

Some of the most rewarding moments in education is when you are supporting neurodiverse pupils. Being able to take offer support to pupils, adapting to their needs and allowing them time to process everything in a specialist setting.
We are working with a wonderful specialist SEN school in Merton that supports children and young people aged 9-16 with autism.
Many of the students have additional needs such as ADHD, speech, language, and communication needs, learning delay, and current/ongoing and historic trauma.
This is a long-term, full-time Autism Teaching Assistant position, ideal for anyone passionate about making a positive impact in special education.
About the role/School:
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and reach personal goals

- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Supporting students’ emotional regulation and well-being
