Autism Teaching Assistant - Primary School with Autism provision
£90 - £95 per day PAYE
Long Term Contract
A mainstream primary school are setting up a new autism provision and will be looking for specialist autism teaching assistant to support students from Spring term 2. This Primary school is based in the heart of Hackney with easy transport links.
The school will be transitioning existing and welcoming new students to this autism provision, meaning that the children will be new to this environment and require patience and care to support them. They will be learning from a sensory, intervention and functional skills based curriculum therefore it would be great to speak with candidates with the following experience;
- Interventions such as; sensory stories, phonics, bucket time, colourful semantics, intensive interaction
The following SEND skills will be beneficial;
- Autism
- Speech & Language Needs
- Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs
- Non-verbal, limited language
- Complex Needs
- Motor Skill Support
- Down Syndrome
Non-experienced candidates are welcome to apply but they will need to have a genuine interest and passion for special needs (personal experience is considered), professional, pro-active, and ability to learn on the job!
