Parker Smith Inclusion are working in partnership with an autism specialist college based in Tower Hamlets, with easy transport links. This particular college supports students aged 16-25 with a diagnosis of autism to prepare for adulthood, succeed in their aspirations and develop life skills on a 3 year programme.
They offer the students a full day's curriculum which is designed around their needs, it is aimed at them achieving increased life changes such as employability, independent living skills, creating friendships and understanding relationships.
They are continuously seeking experienced staff to support their students on a 1:1 and group basis, could that be you?
To be successful in this role you would need to have experience of supporting students with the following needs;
- Autism
- Communication difficulty
- Learning disabilities
You will play a key role in supporting in an employability programme for some students as well as classroom based support.
Desirable Experience/Qualities;
- Specialist School or College Experience
- Post-16 / adulthood skills for young people with SEND
- Familiar with 3rd party charities for employability/further life support
- Friendly, positive and professional
- Fantastic communication skills
- Experience of makaton/PECs/AACs (desirable)
- Fantastic role model
You will be required to have a fully enhanced (child and adult) DBS check prior to going into this school, this is a full time role working 8:45 - 4pm Monday - Friday.
