Are you looking to expand your experience working in a dedicated Specialist Resourced Provision (SRP) supporting secondary aged students with special needs. We are working alongside a mainstream secondary school based in Harlington, Hillingdon who are looking to appoint an experienced Autism Teaching Assistant to work in their SRP providing 1:1 support to students with Autism and additional learning needs in Year 8 and Year 9. This will be a full-time position starting immediately till the end of the academic year. The daily rate will vary between £90 to £100 depending on your experience. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to take the leap to work in specialist setting dedicated to the development of secondary aged students with Autism.
The role:
- Deliver personalised 1:1 support based on each students learning and communication style
- Use structured routines and visual schedules to help maintain focus and participation
- Assist students with sensory needs and support positive behaviour management
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and the wider SEN team to support student progress
- Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
The ideal candidate:
- Previous experience working with students with Autism and/or other additional learning needs
- A genuine interest in understanding sensory processing and behavioural support strategies
- Calm, patient and positive with a proactive attitude towards supporting learning
- Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday from 08:30 AM to 04:00 PM
- Dependable and committed to a long-term role where consistency and stability are important
