Pay: £90 to £100 per day (PAYE)

We are working with a highly supportive specialist SEN primary school in Edgware that is seeking a dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a setting where care, consistency and connection are at the heart of everything, and where small steps of progress are truly valued.

Specialist SEN primary school supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), PMLD and complex needs

Many pupils are non-verbal and benefit from structured, predictable routines

Strong focus on communication, sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing

Calm, safe environment designed to reduce anxiety and support engagement

Small classes with high staff-to-pupil ratios

Collaborative team including teachers, therapists and support staff
The Role

Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs

Support personal care, feeding, hygiene and mobility with dignity and respect

Deliver sensory-based activities to support engagement and regulation

Use communication strategies such as PECS, AAC and visual timetables
-
Work closely with teachers and therapists to follow EHCP targets

Help maintain a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment

You have experience supporting children or young people with Autism, PMLD or complex needs

You have worked in SEN schools, care settings, support work or healthcare

You are confident supporting personal care when required
