Autism Teaching Assistant

Location: Barnet
Pay: £93 – £100 per day (PAYE)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
Start: ASAP / September start available

Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism? Do you enjoy helping young learners build confidence and succeed in the classroom?

We are working with a highly regarded junior school in Barnet that is looking to appoint a dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

This is a full-time, long-term role supporting pupils within Key Stage 2 who benefit from additional support with communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

The school has a strong reputation for its inclusive approach, nurturing environment and close-knit community. Staff work collaboratively to ensure that every child is supported to reach their full potential both academically and personally.

The Role

As an Autism Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism
  • Support students with social communication and emotional regulation
  • Help adapt classroom activities so that all learners can access the curriculum
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies
  • Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning
  • Help maintain a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment
