A good Autism Teaching Assistant does not expect every pupil to learn, communicate or regulate in the same way.
Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting an Autism Teaching Assistant for a specialist education setting in Camden.
You will work closely with pupils who may need additional support with communication, routines, sensory regulation and engagement with learning.
Your role
You may be responsible for:
- Supporting pupils with autism throughout the school day
- Helping with routines and transitions
- Using visual or structured approaches
- Supporting communication and interaction
- Helping pupils regulate and re-engage
- Encouraging independence
- Providing individual and small-group support
- Working closely with teachers and wider SEND staff
