Autism Teaching Assistant - Barnet

Your Role
In this position, you will provide essential support to pupils with autism, helping them to engage with learning and feel secure in their school environment. Your duties will include:

Assisting pupils with their day-to-day classroom activities and routines

Supporting communication, focus, and participation in lessons

Using visual tools, sensory techniques, and structured learning approaches

Offering emotional support during transitions and challenging moments

Working in partnership with teachers and specialist staff

Promoting independence, self-esteem, and positive peer relationships

Recognising and celebrating individual progress
About You
We are seeking someone who is:

Experienced in working with children with autism (helpful, but not required)

Calm, adaptable, and attentive to individual needs
-
A caring communicator who builds strong, trusting relationships

Enthusiastic about developing new skills and strategies
-
Passionate about supporting pupils with SEND
