A specialist SEND school in North West London is seeking a dedicated Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a setting where therapy is fully embedded into the school day and plays a vital role in helping pupils regulate, engage and access learning.

The school supports both primary and secondary aged pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH needs and sensory processing differences. The successful therapist will work closely with teachers, support staff and other specialists to ensure therapy directly supports pupils’ emotional regulation, independence and participation in school life.

This role would suit an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist or a confident Band 5 ready to take the next step within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a paediatric occupational therapy caseload within the school setting

Carry out functional and holistic assessments linked to pupils’ participation in daily school activities

Deliver practical, child-centred interventions that support regulation, motor planning and independence

Provide strategies to support sensory processing and engagement in the classroom

Contribute clearly to EHCP targets and annual reviews

Advise and support teaching staff to adapt classroom environments and routines

Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN professionals, pastoral staff and fellow therapists

Requirements

HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with a recognised OT qualification

Experience working with children and young people with SEND

Knowledge of autism, sensory processing differences and neurodevelopment

Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Organised, reflective and committed to supporting pupils with complex needs

Sensory Integration training is desirable but not essential.
