Behaviour Learning Support Assistant - Specialist Secondary School – Barnet / North London - Immediate Start
Are you an empathetic, patient and resilient professional who is passionate about helping young people thrive both emotionally and academically? We are seeking a Behaviour Learning Support Assistant to join a small, specialist independent secondary school in the Barnet / North London area, supporting students aged 11–19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
The Role:
As a Behaviour LSA, you will:
- Support students who may have experienced difficulties in mainstream education due to anxiety, autism, ADHD, or emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and behaviour leads to deliver personalised learning and emotional support.
- Implement and model positive behaviour strategies, helping students regulate, reflect and re-engage with learning.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils through consistency, empathy and positive reinforcement.
- Help create a calm, nurturing classroom atmosphere where students feel safe, respected and ready to learn.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, adaptable and calm under pressure.
- Passionate about making a genuine difference to young people’s lives.
- Skilled at building rapport with students who may have low confidence or challenging behaviour.
- Reflective, resilient and eager to learn, experience in an SEMH or SEN setting is beneficial but not essential.
- A true team-player who values collaboration, creativity and growth.
