About the Role:
This state-of-the-art SEMH school in Harrow supports children and young people aged 5–18 who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as Autism and ADHD. Many students also experience associated learning difficulties and display challenging behaviour.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping pupils regulate their emotions, engage in learning, and build trust with adults. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you’ll contribute to a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment where every child has the chance to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:

Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and emotional regulation

Support with behaviour management, using de-escalation strategies and restorative approaches

Work proactively with the teaching team to deliver tailored interventions

Help create a calm, safe, and consistent environment

Be a role model for behaviour, communication, and respect

Support students both in and outside of the classroom, including during transitions or unstructured times
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges, SEMH, or Autism

A calm, confident, and nurturing approach to managing behaviour
-
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to defuse and de-escalate challenging situations

Able to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
-
Resilient, proactive, and passionate about inclusive education
