Behaviour Mentor – Alternative Provision / PRU
Location: Hounslow, West London
Salary: £95 – £110 per day PAYE
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting young people who have struggled to thrive in mainstream education? We are looking for a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join an Alternative Provision / PRU in Hounslow.

This specialist setting supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often alongside additional challenges such as Autism, ADHD or trauma-related needs. Many of the young people you will work with may have experienced significant barriers to learning, and your role will be to help re-engage them, build trust, and inspire positive change.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Acting as a positive role model for students who present with challenging behaviour

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions focused on behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement

  • Supporting pupils to manage emotions, develop resilience, and build confidence

  • Implementing personalised behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent, joined-up support

  • Promoting a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued

About You

We want to hear from people who are:

  • Experienced in working with young people with SEMH, either in schools, PRUs, youth work, or mentoring roles

  • Resilient, empathetic, and calm under pressure

  • Skilled at building positive relationships with students who may be disengaged or mistrustful of education

  • Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and achieve their potential

  • Looking for a long-term role where you can truly make a difference

Why Join This Alternative Provision?

  • A supportive, close-knit team that values staff wellbeing

  • Ongoing training and development in SEMH, behaviour support, and trauma-informed practice

  • An environment where no two days are the same, and your work has a visible impact

  • The chance to be part of a provision that changes lives every day
