Salary: £90 – £110 per day (PAYE, dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (Term Time Only)
Contract: Temp-to-Perm / Full-time
Location: Chelmsford

Parker Smith Inclusion is delighted to be partnering with a fantastic school in Chelmsford, seeking a passionate and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join their team. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent, offering a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people.

The school supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils and is committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive environment where every learner is encouraged and supported to achieve their full potential. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in helping pupils with behavioural needs to engage positively with their learning, while building strong, trusting relationships across the school and wider community.

The Role

  • Support pupils across both primary and secondary phases with behavioural and emotional regulation
  • Build positive, trusting relationships to promote engagement, resilience and personal growth
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies to deliver personalised support
  • Encourage participation in enrichment activities, off-site learning and community-based opportunities, with a strong focus on outdoor education and experiential learning
  • Help create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment where all pupils can thrive

About You

  • Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs (in education, youth work or similar)
  • Calm, empathetic and patient approach to managing challenging behaviour
  • Resilient, consistent and able to build strong, positive relationships
  • Passionate about inclusion and committed to helping young people succeed
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
