Parker Smith Inclusion is delighted to be partnering with a rapidly expanding specialist school in Witham. The school supports pupils aged 4 to 19 with a wide range of SEND needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, SLD and pupils who may display dysregulated behaviour. The school takes pride in its nurturing ethos, personalised support plans, and its dedication to transforming the lives of young people with complex needs.
We are looking for committed, energetic and resilient Behaviour Mentors who can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and act as a consistent, positive presence throughout the school day. You will approach challenges with empathy, patience and a focus on pupils’ wellbeing and progress.
Hours: 8:30am to 4:00pm
Pay: £105.76 per day (term time only)
Contract: Temp to perm
About the Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis depending on individual need. You will follow personalised learning and behaviour plans, support emotional regulation, and help pupils engage with their learning in a safe, structured environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building positive and supportive relationships with pupils
- Helping pupils regulate their emotions and manage challenging situations
- Implementing tailored strategies designed by the school’s SEND and therapeutic teams
- Supporting learning activities and encouraging independence
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals
- Remaining calm under pressure and maintaining a consistent, reliable approach
- Providing personal care when required
- Being flexible and willing to support across different areas of the school when needed
This role is central to the school’s holistic approach. You will be a key part of each pupil’s daily experience, contributing directly to their progress, confidence and long-term development.
