Parker Smith Inclusion is delighted to be working in partnership with a fantastic school in Chelmsford, seeking a passionate and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join their team. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent, offering a highly rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
The school supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils and is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment in which every learner is encouraged and supported to reach their full potential. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs, helping them to engage positively with learning while building strong, trusting relationships across the school community.
The Role

Support pupils across both primary and secondary phases with behavioural needs and emotional regulation

Build positive, trusting relationships to promote engagement, resilience and personal development

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies to deliver personalised support

Encourage participation in enrichment activities, off-site learning and community-based opportunities, with a strong focus on outdoor education and experiential learning

Help to create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment where all pupils can thrive
About You

Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs, whether in education, youth work or a similar setting

A calm, empathetic and patient approach to managing challenging behaviour

Resilient and consistent, with the ability to build strong, positive relationships

Passionate about inclusion and committed to helping young people succeed

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
