Are you passionate about supporting neurodivergent young people to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and structured environment?

Parker Smith Inclusion are proud to be working with a specialist secondary setting in Merton that provides tailored support for students with Autism, SEMH, and associated behavioural challenges. The school is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated support staff to join the school team on a full-time, long-term basis.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant/Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students both academically and socially, helping them access learning and navigate daily routines.

You will:

  • Build consistent and trusting relationships with students, providing calm, structured support
  • Support students with communication, supporting them to use positive methods and regulate their difficulties with this.
  • Help manage behaviour positively and proactively, supporting students with SEMH, ASC, ADHD and emotional regulation difficulties
  • Implement Individual Learning Plans tailored to academic, social, and emotional development
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support in, small-classroom environment

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach, especially when managing dysregulation or challenging behaviour
  • A willingness to support students with personal care and physical needs
  • First Aid and/or Manual Handling training (or willingness to obtain)

Collaborative Support & Progression Focused:

We work closely with a range of on-site and external professionals, including:

  • A Safer Schools Officer (on site twice a week)
  • An experienced Speech and Language Therapist
  • An Educational Psychologist
  • A dedicated CAMHS Worker

Every student has an Individual Learning Plan that includes personalised academic goals and social development opportunities.
